Leaf Skeleton Earrings

Long after the new flowers bud in spring and the fresh greens dry up in the summer heat the retired plants of the unruly acres go to bed under a deep bed of snow.  Some hang on to their form for many seasons, some break down into the soil quickly.   Some leave skeletons reminding us of the beauty from another time of year, or maybe years ago.

This is no lead in particular.  I hand drew it onto a sheet of silver and cut out and formed each details.  The heavy patina tells a story of ages.
